Fever is the condition where your body temperature goes beyond the normal temperature. It is common to both children and adults. It is the way of removing toxins and defense against bacterial infection in your body. It starts with a mile shivering, headache, weakness and fatigue etc.




According to ayurveda, fever is refers to as “jwara” and it is due to the disruption of any of the doshas or all of it. There are several ayurvedic remedies for the treatment of fever. Some of them are:

  • Turmeric:

  • Turmeric is considered as a great internal healer of all time. It serves as an excellent ayurvedic remedy for fever. Turmeric should be added to warm water or warm milk and drink it when you are suffering from fever.

  • Cinnamon and honey:

  • Consumption of cinnamon and honey boost immune system and helps protect the body from viral and bacterial infections. A table spoon of honey and cinnamon powder should be boiled in a glass of water and drink it to get relief from fever and cold.

  • Ginger, basil and honey mixtures:




  • Ginger, basil and honey are known for their anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. A mixture of these three ingredients is highly effective for curing fever and cold. After boiling the Ginger and basil in water, it should be simmer in a glass and add a spoon of honey and drink it when it is still warm.

  • Saffron:

  • Saffron is also one of the effective ayurvedic remedy for the treatment of fever and cold. A table spoon of saffron should be added in a glass of water and mix it well. This mixture should be drunk to get relief from fever.

  • Ginger and resins:

  • A mixture of ginger and resins is a potent remedy for fever. Take a table spoon each of dried ginger and resins and crush it. Boil this mixture and drink it when it is still hot, it helps relief from fever and revitalize your body.
