The first made-by-Google smartphones — Pixel and Pixel XL phones are now official. Google smartphones have gone on pre-order in the country. India is among the first six nations where the new smartphones are available for pre-bookings. Google pixel and Pixel XL Smartphone is starting from October 13. The deliveries are expected to start by end of October.




Both Pixel and Pixel XL are said to be the biggest challenge to Apple and Samsung’s flagship devices.

Here are top 12 things you need to know about Google’s brand-new smartphones before putting in your money.

1. Designed by Google

Unlike past smartphone alliances, Google claims that it had complete control of Pixel from start to finish and this new Pixel phones are the first phones made by Google inside and out.

2. Made by HTC

The new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones have been designed by Google, but the actual manufacturing is being handled by Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC.

3. HTC to provide after-sales service for the smartphone

Google has tied up with HTC to provide after-sales service of its Pixel smartphones in 30+ cities in the country and will sell the device through more than 1,000 retail outlets.

4. First smartphones to come with 24×7 support

For the new Pixel smartphone,Google has announced a toll free customer care number that will handle the customer queries. Pixel smartphone users will have 24×7 access to this toll free smartphone support number.

5. Blue colour variant not available in India

Blue colour variant of the Pixel smartphones is said to be the most-sought after. However, the Blue colur variant is not available in India for sale. The smartphones are available in Quite Black and Very Silver colour variants in India.

6. Price starts at Rs 57,000

Google Pixel smartphones come in 32GB and 128GB storage options. Pixel pricing starts at Rs 57,000 for the 32GB version and Rs 66,000 for 128GB variant.
While Pixel XL is priced Rs 67,000 for the 32GB variant and Rs 76,000 for the 128GB model.




7. EMI options available

This is the good news for the smartphones users that the Google is offering interest-free EMI and upgrade offers in India on the smartphones.

8. Features aluminium and glass frames

Google Pixel features a 5-inch full-HD AMOLED display, while Pixel XL features a bigger 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display. Both are Gorilla Glass 4 coating. Both the new Pixel smartphones feature aluminium and glass frames.

Google Pixel smartphone provide users the unlimited storage for both photos and videos in full resolution provided by Google’s cloud.

10. Both the smartphones run on same processor


Both Pixel and Pixel XL run on same processor i.e. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core chipset clocked at 2.15GHz.

11. Offer 4GB RAM and 32GB as base storage

The smartphones offer 4GB RAM and come in 32GB and 128GB storage options.
